Petrified wood resembles wood yet is not wood, resembles jade yet remains something else entirely. It carries a gentle shine and a warm smooth texture that lend it an almost mysterious value. It reflects not only the richness and radiance of jade, but its growth rings and weathered bark also preserve traces of a vanished era. The conditions under which it forms are exceptionally demanding, and the non-renewable nature of these fossils makes petrified wood a precious and wondrous stone that nature has entrusted to humankind.
