In Athens, a city often associated with ancient monumental architecture like the Parthenon and the Acropolis, unfinished buildings present a contemporary contrast. These incomplete structures appear throughout the city in various forms, serving as a visual reminder of the economic crisis that struck Greece after 2008. Many construction projects, once symbols of growth and modernization, abruptly came to a halt as investments dried up and the real estate market collapsed.
